Hi All-
I am adopting a baby rainbow boa this weekend. I have done lots of reading (I currently own 2 happy health C. Red Tails and 2 happy healthy rosy boas) on rainbow boas, but keep getting conflicting reports on humidity levels and lighting,
One site said they need tons of humidity but no basking lamp......
The other said slight humidity with basking lamp....
What is correct???

Re: Rainbow Boas
Sat, October 13, 2007 - 6:39 AMThe humidty needs to be fairly high. (70% or higher).
However they do best at slightly lower temperatures then your other boas, 90 would be about as high as you would want. So, unless you keep the room it is in really warm, you will need some sort of additional heat source. Be careful how much additional heat you use.
You will also need to be careful with the type of sustrate you use. Warm with high humidity will cause a potential problem with mold.
Good luck.
