Hi, guys,
I have recently gotten a really messed up iguana from the pound...I have a small iggy rescue. He had been hit by a car, if you can believe it! When I got him he was all dry and brown, one eye was three times the size of the other and oozing blood and whatnot, His tail had no feeling from about 10inches above the tip and down, he ofcourse wasn't eating, and he had a fused leg from a previous injury. The vet and I have gotten him in pretty good shape...the eye of course is gone and will need to be sewn up. The vet had thought he may get to keep it, but would definately be blind. She had also thought we may need to amputate the tail up to the dead part when he had gained some strength and weight. I wasn't worried about it until today. It had started smelling funny this week and collapsing in (does that make sense?) so I planned to take him in this coming week for another check up. Well, today I found maggots in it. UGH! I'm taking him in tomorrow, but does anyone have any ideas or thoughts about what I can do RIGHT NOW about the maggots???? Please let me know.

By the way, his name is Mad Eye...for the Harry Potter character...and if ever a name fit, it's this one. The old broken thing! I only had him 5 minutes when I knew he was gong to be mine for ever! He is the sweetest little guy in the world, doesn't mind my chihuahuas smelling him and trying to steal his carrots, and is getting more and more independant and cheeky by the day. I can't wait to see how he's going to be when he's 100% better (although missing a % of his body.)

But please if you have any ideas at all, let me know. Thanks!
